Trivia[]

  • The revamped Airport Terminal 2 is based off Manchester Airport in real life.[1] The pre-V1.10 station may have been based off Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 on the London Underground.
    • The station's name resembles Heathrow Airport's terminal stations, however, Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are served by the same station.
  • This station was revealed on 26th January 2019 on the SCR Discord, then on 29th January 2019 on the SCR Twitter.
    • It was then released in V1.1.9.
  • This station has the most platforms among the three terminals, having 4 platforms.
  • The airport terminals are dispatchable stations due to player demand.
    • However, the ability of dispatching was removed from Airport Terminal 1 in V1.10, possibly because the station consists of a single track.
  • The CIS Boards at this station used to not function properly.
  • Prior to V1.10, this station had a terminus loop like Port Benton.
  • This station, along with Airport Terminal 1, used to have no exit. It was located underneath a purple airport terminal building with an ATC tower. It could be seen if you zoom out far enough when driving a train.
    • The building of Airport Terminal 2 and the ATC tower was also visible from James Street prior to its revamp.
  • Before this station was opened, it had one platform, similar to Airport Terminal 1.
  • There are no trains to Airport Terminal 1 serving this station.
    • In order to go to Airport Terminal 1 station from this station, you need to take a train to Stepford Airport Central and then change to another train that goes via Terminal 1.
  • Airport Terminal 2 (X), as well as Farleigh (J), Esterfield (Q), Leighton West (K), and Airport Terminal 3 (Z), do not have a letter in their name that is their station headcode.
  • Along with Airport Terminal 3, this is one of the two first stations having the "Turnaround mid-route" functionality.
  • This station is the second Waterline-AirLink interchange, the first being Morganstown.[note 2]
    • This is also the only station to allow AirLink passengers to directly change to a Waterline service to Newry (R017) without changing at another station.
  • This station is one of the six triple-line junctions, the others being Stepford Central, St Helens Bridge, Elsemere Junction, Benton and Leighton Stepford Road.
    • Additionally, this is the only triple-line station that is not served by Stepford Express.
  • Despite being an airport terminal station, its scenery has little to no resemblance of an airport. It instead consists of many buildings and skyscrapers. The actual "airport terminal" is a short walk from this station.
    • It is possible that this station additionally serves accommodation, as the "Cozy Palace Hotel" is nearby.
    • "Cozy Palace Hotel" is likely named after "Crowne Plaza Hotel", a hotel chain that can be found near Airports across the world.
  • Between V1.10.0 to V1.10.6, this used to be the second Stepford Connect station that the Class 68 and the Class 444 cannot serve.
    • The first one is Houghton Rake.
    • This also used to be the only Stepford Connect station that the Class 68 has never served, as it was able to serve Houghton Rake before V1.8. The Class 444 was not in the game back then.
    • In V1.10.7, a new route (R048 (from St Helens Bridge)) was added, allowing the two trains to serve this station.
  • The tunnel that links Farleigh TMD (Road 2) and James Street passes under this station.
