The Stepford County Railway Wiki has announced a new revamp project, giving the community a new way to give feedback for the project's future. You can read more here and participate on our Discord server.
This was one of the three stations in the game that only had 1 platform. The second one is Airport Terminal 1 and the third one is Leighton West (Also, before Waterline was added, Port Benton was also a singular platform and the smallest station).
It was the only station in all of SCR to have the platform made entirely out of bricks.
After V1.10, R018 also serves this station, making a total of 3 routes serving Newry Harbour, 2 for Waterline and 1 for Stepford Express.
This station's overhaul was not sneak peeked, but because of the overhaul of Newry and a Stepford Express extension down here, it was highly anticipated for an overhaul, which it did get in V1.9.
Though after V1.9 traffic has increased slightly as one more route R084 (Newry Harbour <> Llyn-by-the-Sea) serves this station.
Due to the single track leading to this station, trains inbound to this station are forced to wait at Newry to allow outbound trains to free up the line. Waiting times of around three minutes may occur, however are unlikely since the station, if not the entirety of the Waterline network, remains seldom visited by drivers.
In V1.1, scenery for this station was updated, adding many commercial buildings including a customs and shipping centre.
It was originally intended that services to James Street would run from here, but the developers wanted to keep the station "tiny" in every way possible: the number of platforms and the number of services that arrive there.
Ironically in V1.9, a second platform was added, and Stepford Express services started to call here.
It became even more ironic in V1.10, where a route was added to terminate at the new Farleigh station, one stop past James Street, where trains were originally meant to terminate at prior to the extension.
Near this station, there are tracks under a portal crane near a port, that include killblocks and buffers. This, the so-called "Platform 0" at Stepford Central and the addition of the static Class 66 Locomotives being added to Stepford Airport Parkway in V1.10 have made many players expecting a Freight line in SCR, though the developers have revealed nothing about this or if it will happen.
Though this may all just be for scenery purposes only, as Stepford Airport Parkway is heavily based on the real life station Bristol Parkway, which has a freight siding next to it.
In V1.6, the route maps (both the Waterline one and the whole network one) labelled this stop as a station with limited service, probably due to a very small number of trains calling here.
This station is one of two stations on the Waterline map to be considered limited service, the other being Rosedale Village.
Prior to V1.10, this station was the only limited service Waterline station.
In V1.8.0, there was a bug where trains could not close their doors at Newry Platforms 2A and 2B, making this station inaccessible without skipping Newry.
This bug was later fixed in V1.8.1.
In V1.9, a cruise ship was added to the harbour along with the station's overhaul. However, it is solely for scenery purposes.
This is the only place where players can see a cruise ship. Others are either container ships or private yachts.
This station is the only limited service terminus in the whole of SCR.
On top of that, it is the only limited service station in SCR to be served by two operators (Waterline and Stepford Express).
↑A limited-service station often means that trains could have stopped at the limited-service station, but does not. Example being Rosedale Village, where R014 (Newry <> Esterfield) could have stopped there, but skips it instead. Being a limited-service station also requires at least two routes passing/stopping at that station, with at least 50% of the routes not stopping at it. Therefore, Morganstown is not considered as a limited-service station as only one Waterline route serves it. In addition, Morganstown is also a major station.
↑Even though James Street is shown as a limited service-station on the main network map but not on the Waterline operator map, it is to show clearly that there are services that skips James Street on the main network map. Though because 2 of the 3 routes stop at this station (and not less than 50% of routes, as mentioned above), this station is not shown as limited in the Waterline operator map.
