The Class 701 Aventra (branded as Arterio) was a train used for Waterline services prior to its removal. These trains were 4 cars in length and had a maximum speed of 100 MPH. It costed 3000 points. With the release of Version 1.1, the train was retired, meaning it can no longer be bought or spawned. It was originally thought that the train was under refurbishment, but it has been over 5 years since they were pulled from service and Next Generation trains have been built since then.

Trivia[]

  • As the Class 701 in game was based on the Class 720, compared to its real counterpart, the Class 701 in SCR was very inaccurate. Some differences include the front end being different, the units were operated as 4 cars, despite the real life shortest configuration being 5 cars.
    • According to former Product Developer Mattyx2013, the train was removed because it didn’t suit the line and due to the aforementioned differences making it a duplicate of the Class 720.
  • When the train was retired, owners of the train were refunded.
  • This train and the Class 730 are the only trains in-game to be added before entering service in real life.
    • This is the only train to have been removed from the game before entering service in real life.
  • If the train had remained in the game past Version 1.1, the livery colour of this train would have likely been made slightly darker, similar to what happened to the other Waterline trains.
  • Even after its removal, it still holds the record for the most expensive Waterline train, as well as the record for the one of the longest trains on the operator, along with the Class 165/1, Class 319 and Class 379.
