The Stepford County Railway Wiki has announced a new revamp project, giving the community a new way to give feedback for the project's future. You can read more here and participate on our Discord server.
The British Rail Class 720 Aventra is an electric multiple-unit manufactured by Alstom, in use on Stepford Connect. These trains are formed of 5 coaches, and cost 1,500 points.
All Class 720 units were extended from 4 to 5 coaches in The Big Update to reflect its real-life counterpart.
These trains were unique for having their destinations in white Highway Gothic.
This font was shared with all other Aventra trains and the Class 755 in SCR; but in V1.4.1, the colour of the destination board text was changed to orange.
When this train got upgraded to Next Generation, there was a red line on some coaches which meant that there was a toilet in that coach.
However, these were removed when this train was upgraded to NGv2.
This train was the last train to be upgraded to NGv2 by former Product Developer Mattyx2013.
The new NGv2 version of this train was mistaken by many people as the Class 701, a former Waterline train now removed due to it not suiting the line and its resemblance to this train.
Prior to V1.6, these trains were classified as 720/0s before, which don't exist in real life.
After the aforementioned update, they were renumbered into 720/5s.
This was the second train that received the new Stepford Connect livery.
As a result, the Class 720 was the only train to have 3 upgrades, which is from Paper Trains to NGv1, then to NGv2, and now to NGv3.
Since V1.8.2, it shares this trait with the Class 707.
After its upgrade in V1.8, special car stop markers have been added at select stations where the platform is too short. These are identified with a purple colour with a yellow-black border, with the class number in the middle.
This train shares the markers with the Class 730/1.
Since V1.10.7, the Class 158 also has special car markers at St Helens Bridge. There are identified with a red-black border.
Since V1.8.1, when departing Coxly from Coxly Station Siding or even doing nothing at the siding with this train, the player will be despawned with the message "Maximum tilt exceeded." This has yet to be fixed, even after the refurbishment of the siding and the station in V1.10.
When this train was meshed in V1.8, the pantograph was put in an incorrect location. It is unknown why.
This train was originally designed and built by Bombardier Transportation until in 2021, where Alstom acquired Bombardier Transportation. After the acquisition, the train has been manufactured by Alstom.
This train and the Class 730/1 and the Class 707 are the only trains on Connect to have an LCD PIS display.
